USA Heads to Olympic Semi-Finals with 1-0 Win Over Swiss

The USA won a very close, poorly played, quarterfinal match against Switzerland, who they had defeated 3-1 earlier in the preliminary round.

The USA looked like the team that played their first game in the Olympics, the game where Ryan Miller didn’t look great in goal and Brian Rafalski wasn’t making a bid to be the next Bobby Orr. Today, however, Ryan Miller was on top of his game but the rest of Team USA was not.

The USA did outshoot the Swiss by a large margin, but Jonas Hiller was on top of his game in net and he almost managed to keep Switzerland in the tourney like he’d been doing for the entire Olympics.

The USA advances to the Semi-Finals where they will face the winner between Finland and the Czech Republic, a game which will be played later tonight.
