Canada Hockey Brings Russia and Dirty "O" Back to Earth

In what was expected to be a goal buffet for both teams, only Canada showed up with empty stomachs and the Russians made sure it was all you can eat. Canada has defeated Russia in a booming 7-3 win to end Russia’s bid for an Olympic medal.

In all the things that didn’t make sense in this game, the biggest was the choice of goaltenders for Russia. It’s hard to put Evgeni Nabokov on the bench, but after giving up four weak goals, it’s not understandable why he started the second period, giving up two more goals before Ilya Bryzgalov was brought in and was great for the rest of the game.

Russia just made mistake after mistake and if not for names like Alexander Ovechkin and Pavel Datsyuk it’d have seemed that Russia was just not in the same league as Canada. In the end, Canada just manhandled the Russian team tonight.

Canada will play the winner of the Sweden Slovakia game which will not be played until midnight.
