RED WINGS RE-SIGN DEFENSEMEN CHRIS CHELIOS AND KYLE QUINCEY TO NEW DEALS

Detroit, MI… Detroit Red Wings General Manager Ken Holland announced today that the club has re-signed two defensemen, inking Chris Chelios to a one-year deal and Kyle Quincey to a two-year deal. In keeping with team policy, additional terms of each deal were not disclosed.
Chelios is entering his 25th season in the National Hockey League and 10th with the Red Wings. In 2007-08, Chelios became the oldest U.S. born player and second oldest player in NHL history (Gordie Howe). He moved into sixth place on the all-time games played list with 1,616. During the 2008 playoffs he passed Patrick Roy to become the all-time leader in postseason games played (260). Chelios leads all active NHL defensemen in assists (763) and points (948).
