Hocktoberfest, 2008 - Windsor, Ontario. 80 Teams

It’s No Trick…
Windsor Is In For A Treat This Halloween!

This year, the international community trades in regular Halloween masks for hockey masks as athletes and spectators from across the globe converge on Windsor and Essex County for HOCKtoberfest 2008.

Some of the most talented female hockey players from Canada, Europe and the United States will come together to bring you “HOCKtoberfest” 2008--a celebration of female hockey! Teams will be traveling from Barrie, Toronto, Ottawa, Wisconsin, New York, Arizona, California and even the U.K., just to name a few.

“HOCKtoberfest is estimated to generate over $3.5 million to the local Windsor economy,” says Catherine Murphy, Director, Media & Public Relations for HOCKtoberfest 2008.

The ice heats up at South Windsor Arena, The Vollmer Complex, Forest Glade Arena, Tecumseh Arena and the new WFCU arena, as over 80 teams gather October 30th until November 2nd for four days of great hockey and cultural, educational and special events.
