Red Wings Face Must Win in Vancouver

After giving up a win in Edmonton last night, the Detroit Red Wings face a must win game tonight in Vancouver if they wish to keep their playoff dreams alive.

Although Detroit did get one point last night when they forced overtime with a goal just two tenths of a second before the end of the game, they ultimately lost the game in overtime giving up the extra point. Going into tonight’s game, they are tied with Calgary with 81 points but Calgary has the tiebreaker meaning the Wings wouldn’t be in the playoffs if the season had ended last night.

After tonight’s game in Vancouver, the Wings face Pittsburg on Tuesday in Detroit. Both of these games are going to be difficult and if Detroit cannot win one, or both, of them it’s likely they will not be in the playoffs.
