Detroit, MI… Detroit Red Wings Executive Vice President and General Manager Ken Holland announced today that the team has acquired forward Riley Armstrong from the Calgary Flames in exchange for defenseman Andy Delmore.
Armstrong, 25, has played in 38 games this season for the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League, registering 19 points (11-8-19) and 55 PIM. He has played in two career National Hockey league games with the San Jose Sharks in 2008-09 (0-0-0, 2 PIM).
Delmore, 33, has spent the entire 2009-10 season playing for Grand Rapids of the AHL. In 54 games with the Griffins he collected 20 points (5-15-20) and 32 PIM.
