RED WINGS ASSIGN JAN MURSAK TO GRAND RAPIDS

... Forward Appeared in Just Two Games For Detroit This Season Due to a Shoulder Injury…
Detroit, MI... The Detroit Red Wings today announced that forward Jan Mursak has cleared waivers and has been assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.  Mursak is expected to be available for the Griffins tonight when they host the San Antonio Rampage at 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena.

Mursak, 25, was a sixth round selection of the Red Wings in the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft.  The Maribor, Slovenia, native missed 14 games this season after suffering a shoulder injury in Detroit’s season opening loss at St. Louis.  He appeared in just two games for the Red Wings in 2012-13, posting no points and four penalty minutes.  In 46 career NHL games with Detroit, Mursak collected two goals, two assists and eight penalty minutes.

Mursak has appeared in 190 career AHL games for Grand Rapids, registering 39 goals and 48 assists for 87 points.
