RED WINGS RECALL GUSTAV NYQUIST FROM AHL

Rookie Center has Nine Points in Nine Games with Grand Rapids

Detroit, MI The Detroit Red Wings today announced that 22-year-old forward Gustav Nyquist has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL). Currently competing in his first full season of professional hockey, Nyquist has recorded 4G-5A-9P in nine games played for the Griffins thus far on the 2011-12 campaign, giving the 5’11”, 170-lb. center the second-best scoring total on the team.

Currently 5-4-0 on the season, the Red Wings will host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, November 1 (puck drop – 7:30 p.m.) on the opening night of a six-game home stand for Detroit.
