After giving up the first goal to Phoenix, Detroit took over the third period of this game and beat the Coyotes 7-4.

The first goal was scored Keith Yandle and then goals were traded back and forth. Phoenix also saw goals tonight from Wojtek Wolski, Matthew Lombardi, and Shane Doan. Detroit got goals from Pavel Datsyuk and Justin Abdelkader, a pair from Valtteri Filppula, and three from Henrik Zetterberg.

Detroit had set out to win at least one of the two games in Phoenix and have done just that tonight. Detroit made the right adjustments after their bad play in game one. Justin Abdelkader saw is first NHL action tonight since January – scoring a goal, finishing the game plus two, and recording five hits.

In Play! Man of the Game: Henrik Zetterberg. Zetterberg played a game today befitting of his skill, recording a hat-trick for the second time this season as well as recording five hits in the game.
