Red Wings Hit 100 Points With 1-0 Win in Columbus

For the 10th consecutive time the Detroit Red Wings have amassed 100 points in the regular season, something that is amazing considering how “bad” everyone in the league has referred to Detroit this season.

There were no goals in this game until the shootout. In the first round of the shootout, Columbus’ Rick Nash scored on his shootout attempt but Pavel Datsyuk quickly erased that advantage. The next person to score was Todd Bertuzzi in the fourth round which gave the Wings the win.

Detroit owned most of this game other than a few minutes in the second period where they found themselves in penalty trouble. If not for the goaltending at both ends of the ice one of these teams could have piled up the goals tonight.

In Play! Man of the Game: Jimmy Howard. Howard amassed his third shutout of the season today and his second shutout in the last two weeks. Howard continues to make his bid for the Calder Trophy for the best rookie of the season.
