RED WINGS AGREE TO TERMS WITH GOALTENDER THOMAS MCCOLLUM

…18-year Old Was Detroit’s First Round Selection In 2008 NHL Entry Draft….
Detroit, MI… Detroit Red Wings General Manager Ken Holland announced today that the club has agreed to terms with goaltender Thomas McCollum on a three-year entry-level deal. In keeping with team policy, additional terms of the contract were not disclosed.
McCollum, 6-2 and 205 lbs., was Detroit’s first round selection (30th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. The Sanborn, NY native recently participated in both the Red Wings’ 2008 prospects camp and main training camp in Traverse City before his assignment back to the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League. In three games with Guelph this season, he has a 3-0-0 record with a 2.00 goals against average and a .942 save percentage.
In August, McCollum attended the 2008 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp and is a candidate for Team USA at the 2009 World Junior Championship in Ottawa, Ontario.
