… Detroit Prepares for Three-Game California Road Trip …
Detroit, MI...The Detroit Red Wings today announced that forward Gustav Nyquist and goaltender Jordan Pearce have been reassigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Nyquist, 22, appeared in both games for Detroit this weekend, collecting an assist on Darren Helm’s game-winning goal against the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night at Joe Louis Arena and adding another helper in Detroit’s 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators on Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena. The Halmstad, Sweden, native has played in seven games for the Red Wings this season, notching three points (0-3-3) and two PIM. Pearce, 25, served as a backup to starting goaltender Joey MacDonald in Detroit’s last three games against Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Nashville.
Currently in possession of a 44-22-3 record, the Red Wings will travel to California today and prepare to take on the Los Angeles Kings (31-25-12) on Tuesday night at Staples Center (10:30 p.m. ET). Detroit’s next home game is scheduled for Monday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. versus Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
