Detroit, MI... The Detroit Red Wings today announced that goaltender Joey MacDonald has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. MacDonald is available to play in tonight’s game when the Red Wings play host to the Washington Capitals (7:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports Detroit and 97.1 The Ticket).
MacDonald, 31, has appeared in ten games for the Red Wings this season, posting a 3-4-1 record with a 2.47 goals-against average and .910 save percentage. The Pictou, NS, native has played in 82 career National Hockey League games for the Boston Bruins (7), New York Islanders (51), Toronto Maple Leafs (6) and Red Wings (18).
