…Veteran Blue Liner Returns for his Second Stint with Detroit this Season…
Detroit, MI... The Detroit Red Wings today announced that defenseman Doug Janik has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Janik, 30, will be available for tomorrow night’s game when the Red Wings play host to the Edmonton Oilers (7:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports Detroit and 97.1 The Ticket).
The Agawam, MA, native is back in Hockeytown for his second stint with the Wings this season. He appeared in seven games for Detroit from October 12-28 (0-0-0, -2, 7 PIM). The eight-year NHL veteran has played in 181 career games, registering 18 points (3-15-18) and 148 PIM.
Janik is currently serving as an assistant captain with Grand Rapids. In 46 games with the Griffins, he has 17 points (4-13-17) and 55 PIM.
