Detroit, MI...The Detroit Red Wings today announced that free agent forward Damien Brunner has signed a one-year contract with the team. In accordance with club policy, additional terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
Brunner, 26, has spent the past four seasons with EV Zug of Switzerland’s National League A where he has recorded 190 points (78G-112A) in 167 games played. In 2011-12, Brunner led the NLA in scoring with 60 points (24G-36A) in 45 games en route to being named the league’s top forward. The 5’10”, 176-lb. winger has played for Team Switzerland at two of the last three IIHF World Championships (2010 & 2012), totaling 14P-4G-8A-12P over the course of the two tournaments.
